Repsol Hondas Dani Pedrosa was disappointed not to continue his run of podium finishes at Brno on Sunday, having finished in the top three on his previous five visits to the historic Czech venue.

The 21 year-old Catalan former 250cc and 125cc World Champion qualified on the front row for the seventh time in 2007 but missed out on the podium by just under three seconds, as he was unable to catch Repsol Honda team-mate Nicky Hayden.

Due to tyre grip issues Pedrosa was concerned about losing more places to those pursuing him, with a group of riders on his tail. He commented: We could not get the same grip as other brands but we were fighting and trying to get the best result. At the end we were suffering a lot with the tyres because (Chris) Vermeulen and (Loris) Capirossi were catching me so in the end finishing fourth is not so good but at least its not too dramatic.
