Dovizioso recognises Honda-Aprilia differential

Andrea Dovizioso was once again left playing the bridesmaid to Jorge Lorenzo at the latest round of the 250cc World Championship. The Honda rider finished second as the reigning World Champion finally left him for dead at the halfway point of the race in Brno. Despite being one of the most consistent riders in the quarter litre category, Dovizioso has been unable to close the gap between himself and Lorenzo, and he believes that part of the reason for the 30 point gap has been the gulf in class between the Honda and Aprilia bikes.

"We are all riding very fast, on lap record pace at nearly every circuit that we've visited this year," explains the Italian. "Honda have brought us some new parts but, even though we have been able to reduce the difference, we continue without being on even terms with Aprilia and need to keep working."

The next race should bring Dovizioso some extra motivation, with the race at Misano taking place on Italian soil.

"I have visited the track, but have only been round by car. I'm not sure, but I think it could be a good track for us; slow and narrow. We will have to wait and see how we adapt to it when the time to ride comes around," concluded the Team Scot rider.
