The Misano circuit that will host next weeks Grand Prix is this seasons great unknown for the MotoGP riders, although it will not be a first race visit for two of the antipodean members of the grid.

Whilst a selection of riders have taken a trip around Misano either in a car or on a scooter, Chris Vermeulen and Anthony West have both competed in races at the circuit. The former last set foot on the asphalt two years ago in his previous life as a Superbike racer, but has dismissed any claims that this will be greatly to his advantage by noting that were going the wrong way round it this time - traditionally run anti-clockwise, Misano will be run in the opposite direction in MotoGP.

The track is much fresher in the mind of Vermeulens countryman Anthony West, who won a Supersport race there just two months ago onboard a 600cc Yamaha. Whilst West could benefit from his recent ride at Misano, he is also aware that the game of catch-up for the other riders will be helped by special regulations brought in for the race, commenting, I hope I can take advantage of my knowledge of the track, but I probably wont be too far ahead of the others because of the added time given for the first day of practice.
