On the eve of the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, Pramac d'Antin's Brazilian MotoGP veteran Alex Barros and local 250cc rider Alex de Angelis of Master – Mapfre Aspar were today joined by Eugene Laverty (Honda LCR 250cc) and Sandro Cortese (Emmi - Caffe Latte Aprilia 125cc) for an afternoon excursion in the European principality.

As the final preparations are made for this weekend's return to racing after a 14 year absence at Misano, the World Championship quartet visited the historic site of the Cava dei Balestrieri in San Marino where they were given the opportunity to learn flag waving and crossbow shooting - both local traditional arts.

The riders met local delegates at the site which hosts an annual festival of crossbowmen each September, known as the 'Palio delle balestre grandi', honouring the founding saint of the Republic of San Marino and celebrating the traditions of defending the city walls.
