At a special ceremony ahead of the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, the 30th anniversary of MotoGP's traveling hospital - Clinica Mobile - was marked in the presence of several past and present MotoGP stars.

The return to Misano this weekend after 14 years is a special occasion for Clinica Mobile head Doctor Claudio Costa and many of his Italian compatriots who also work in the MotoGP clinic - as they celebrate three decades of saving lives and treating injuries.

In recent months, in addition to many other riders, Clinica Mobile have provided emergency assistance to seriously injured 250cc riders Roberto Locatelli and Taro Sekiguchi and MotoGP's Toni Elias who broke his femur at Assen. Thanks to the effective and immediate treatment Elias and Locatelli received they returned to riding well ahead of expectations, while Sekiguchi continues to make a steady recovery following his recent horror crash.

Several famous ex-riders, including Franco Uncini, Alberto Puig and Mick Doohan were joined by numerous current MotoGP participants at the ceremony to pay homage to Dr Costa's valued team of medics and to honour the memory of Japanese hero Daijiro Kato who passed away in 2003 after an accident at Suzuka.
