Aspar comments on respect and new additions

A former winner at Misano, Jorge Martinez Aspar returns to the circuit in his current capacity as a team manager for the first time this weekend. With both Hector Faubel and Gabor Talmacsi challenging for the title, the Aspar team are set for more success this year, with an atmosphere that remains amicable within the team.

"The situation now is one of intense competition, but still a sense of team spirit, which is something extremely difficult to maintain," explains the Spaniard. "I hope that this situation continues, with the same immense respect between our riders," he added, before commenting on his own successes at Misano.

"I have good memories of Misano, because it was here in 1985 that I won my first World Championship and I've also had some really good races here. It was a very technical track back then, and it is basically a completely different track now. It is an area of the world with an incredible passion, some amazing fans, and this is one thing that hasn't changed."

With six races to go, Aspar is assessing his line up for next season, seemingly resigned to the departure of Alex de Angelis from the 250cc squadron.

"Everything is very well advanced as regards 2008. We have signed Tutusaus for next season, and we have Faubel, Gadea and Bautista continuing with us. The only thing that remains is to see if Gabor stays with us, or if we sign another rider."
