Toseland comments on Edwards rumours

Briton James Toseland is sure to shake things up in MotoGP when he makes his 800cc debut next year.

Briton James Toseland is sure to shake things up in MotoGP when he makes his 800cc debut next year. The current World Superbike championship leader joins Yamaha Tech 3 in 2008, and all rumours suggest that he will be sharing a garage with former team-mate Colin Edwards in his rookie season.

Toseland commented on the speculation that Herve Poncharal had acquired the services of the Texan earlier this week, noting that "his experience would be a big help, because I will have a lot to learn. I was his team-mate ten years ago in supersport, so it's a bit of a coincidence that we are back together again."

There is no doubt that Yamaha have been on the back foot this year, and Toseland is confident that the Japanese manufacturer will fight back in 2008.

"At the moment Yamaha haven't got the strongest package, and the Ducati is flying. However, I know the plans that Yamaha have for next season and I am convinced that we will be competitive," notes the man from Sheffield.
