Suzuki factory rider Chris Vermeulen is currently on his best run of form in MotoGP, as he chases down third place in the overall classification. The Australian has been one of the standout performers of the past few races, and has the points to show for his efforts.

Since his podium finish at Donington Park back in June, Vermeulen has scored 72 points in six races, a figure only bettered by championship leader Casey Stoner over the same period. Such performances have included a pair of second positions at Laguna Seca and Misano, where once again only his compatriot could find a way to cope with the Suzuki mans pace.

One race where Vermeulen has previously stepped onto the rostrum is still to be undertaken this season, as the 25 year old returns to Phillip Island for his home Grand Prix next month. A renowned wet weather expert, recent form suggests that a Suzuki victory in the dry would not be such a tall task either, with the Australian showing himself to be a versatile rider onboard the GSV-R800.
