New German talent joins Kiefer for 2008

Stefan Kiefer's 125cc project for next season has been confirmed with the signing of Robin Lasser, announced yesterday in an official team release.

Stefan Kiefer's 125cc project for next season has been confirmed with the signing of Robin Lasser, announced yesterday in an official team release.

Lasser is the reigning champion of the German 125cc championship, having started racing in the class two years ago. The 16 year-old will accompany countryman Stefan Bradl, another recently signed talent, in the Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing line up for 2008.

"We are happy to confirm the agreement with Robin Lasser for 2008, after we signed the contract with Stefan Bradl a few weeks ago," commented Kiefer.

"Robin is the first out of our own junior team to get the chance to compete in the World Championship. This has confirmed our strategy in the 125cc German Championship (IDM). With Marvin Fritz (14) maybe we have the next big talent for 2009 on the grid. He is in his second year in our junior team and he is currently in fourth place in the German Championship."

"We want to invest in the future, to give young riders a home for successful representation in the World Championship."

Lasser himself added: "I'm very happy about the possibility of doing a complete season. I'm also happy that I can do that together with Kiefer Racing and want to say thank you for this great chance."
