Fausto Gresini, the Honda Gresini team manager, confirmed to motogp.com on Sunday that he has agreed a deal with Alex de Angelis to bring the current Master - Mapfre Aspar 250cc rider into MotoGP next season.

Gresini commented: "We have reached an agreement with Alex De Angelis, and for the time being it's the only agreement we have for the next season. For us is very important to have another young Italian rider making his debut in MotoGP with us. In my opinion, thanks to Honda, Bridgestone and the experience our team can offer I'm sure we can offer Alex the chance to prove his talent."

"This team has helped a lot of big riders passing through, and we have always offered them the tools to achieve great results. I'm sure this will continue in the future."
