Sekiguchi to miss out on home race

Despite his best efforts to be fit for the A-Style Grand Prix of Japan, Campetella Racing's Taro Sekiguchi will not be able to take part this weekend at Motegi.

Despite his best efforts to be fit for the A-Style Grand Prix of Japan, Campetella Racing's Taro Sekiguchi will not be able to take part this weekend at Motegi.

Following his horror crash at Brno (Czech Republic) the Japanese rider is back in the paddock at Twin Ring Motegi, although he still unsurprisingly requires crutches to get about.

On the day before action commences in Japan, Sekiguchi tested his own fitness levels by mounting his Aprilia 250cc machinery in his team's pit-box only to experience serious discomfort as he attempted to simulate race movements – forcing him to concede that returning to competition this weekend will not be possible.

The 31 year-old from Tokyo will now focus his efforts on being fit to ride in Australia in three weeks time.
