Lorenzo and Yamaha will not test together at Motegi

Despite rumours to the contrary published in recent weeks, Jorge Lorenzo will not be testing the Yamaha M1 next week in post-race testing after the A-Style Grand Prix of Japan. The Spaniard had been strongly linked with an early extended trial of 800cc machinery, but will now wait until the end of what he hopes will be another 250cc World Championship winning season to enjoy his first official experience of the bike with which he will debut in MotoGP.

Lorenzo gave the reason for the cancellation of any planned test as being out of respect for Aprilia, the Italian factory who have led the current World Champion to his greatest successes. The factory rider can now concentrate fully on retaining his quarter litre crown.

This summer Lorenzo had his first ride on an 800cc bike in Almeria, although he completed a minimum of laps in an unofficial ride onboard this seasons Yamaha.
