Hector Barbera's third place finish at Motegi handed Aprilia the 2007 World Constructors´ Championship in the 250cc class with three races to go - with 27 podiums and 10 wins already achieved in the 14 quarter litre category Grand Prix contests so far this year.

It is the seventh 250cc World title for Aprilia – on the back of wins in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2006 – and marks another season of success for the Italian company, after the 125cc 2007 Constructors' Championship was secured at Misano, at the beginning of September.

Assessing what the latest triumph means for his firm, Leo Francesco Mercanti, Director of the Aprilia brand, commented: "It is always a great feeling to win a title. It's a reward for the exceptional work undertaken by a great team of technicians and by a highly competent company, showing unparalleled passion for their work. Such values have allowed the young Aprilia brand to become legendary in motorcycling within a period of just 20 years."

"I would like to thank the riders, the team and the sponsors who have participated in Aprilia's amazing rise to success."
