Talmacsi signs two-year Aspar contract extension

Bancaja Aspar's Hungarian rider Gabor Talmacsi has renewed his contract with the team and will remain with the Valencia based outfit for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Bancaja Aspar's Hungarian rider Gabor Talmacsi has renewed his contract with the team and will remain with the Valencia based outfit for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Signing the deal will allow Talmacsi to continue riding for the team with whom he currently leads the 125cc World Championship, while for Aspar they are guaranteed the services of a rider whose performances have been consistently high all season.

Talmacsi, who this year has won two GPs (Jerez and Sachsenring), will have competitive RSA machinery at his disposal next season and has the option of moving into the quarter litre class in 2009 on an official RSA 250 bike.

The renewal of Talmacsi's contract completes the Bancaja Aspar line-up for next year, following the signing of new rider Pere Tutusaus and the confirmation that Sergio Gadea will also remain with the team.

On the good news of his new deal Talmacsi commented: "The team is just as good in the 125cc class as it is in 250. I'm really pleased to be staying put, and it's the first time that I've spent two consecutive years in the same set-up. We've started work on a project which we can continue working on and that's great."

"Now I have no worries about being 100% at the maximum and working hard from the first minute of the pre-season, knowing who I am going to be with. I'm really pleased to have this great opportunity with Jorge Martínez Aspar again."
