The obvious focus of the post-race press conference at Motegi, newly crowned MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner was leapt upon by the various journalists looking for a definitive quote from the young star. Stoner summed up his title winning season and made a number of his trademark declarations at the event.

"During the race, it was inevitable to think about the title. I have to be honest and say that it did cross my mind, but I just tried to concentrate on what I was doing on the bike."

"It got to me a little that people on the outside weren't giving me credit for my work. Sometimes you need a bit more confidence and to be rewarded for your efforts."

"It might seem strange, but the race that I'd like to wipe from the records this year is Motegi, because it has been my worst result of the year. My best memory was Laguna Seca, where we went well all weekend."
