In the midst of celebrations following Ducati's first World Championship and Loris Capirossi's race victory at Motegi, MotoGP Project Manager Livio Suppo gave a few moments of his time to speak to motogp.com about the achievements of a magnificent 2007 season.

"Not even a film director would have invented an ending like what we've experienced, with Loris winning the race and Casey clinching the championship. We are very proud, and this moment is an historic one for Ducati," said the Italian.

"I think that it is a difficult thing to have been so competitive in so little time. We took a risky decision by leaving Michelin for Bridgestone. If Loris hadn't have got injured last season then we would have been fighting for the title in 2006 as well. This year Casey has dominated, and we are the team to beat. All the other teams are going to work hard to improve their level, and that is the way competition is."

The Ducati boss concluded by hailing the relationship between Stoner and the team, declaring that "we had the fortune to cross paths with Casey, and likewise he with a team that have allowed him to utilise his talents."
