Mattia Pasinis 2007 comeback

After his disastrous fortune over the initial third of the 2007 season, Mattia Pasinis current situation in the hunt for third place is something of a shock. The Italian is just 12 points behind Tomoyoshi Koyama in his bid to salvage something from his final year in the 125cc category.

The Polaris World rider was in a lowly 18th place after the Grand Prix of Catalunya, with only 16 points to his name after a series of retirements. Pasini had started from pole at four of the opening six races, but had only managed to score points in one.

The embarrassing situation for the rider and the team, who adorned the Italians bike with a black cat design in an effort to turn around their luck, has been rectified by a reliable machine, and since the visit to Montmelo Pasini has scored 128 points and four victories; more than any other rider in the seven race run.

Despite his momentous comeback, Pasini is still out of the running for the 2007 title. Now it only remains for the unlucky veteran of the 125cc class to finish his season in the best way possible, and prepare for his move up to 250cc with a factory Aprilia.
