World Championship trio Andrea Dovizioso (Kopron Team Scot), Hiroshi Aoyama (Red Bull KTM 250) and Bradley Smith (Repsol Honda 125) paid a visit to the Maru koala and fauna park in Victoria on Thursday morning, where they got a glimpse of some the famous wildlife of Australia.

The World Championship trio were given a guided tour, on which they were introduced to native species such as dingoes, kangaroos, koala bears and wombats, at the important zoological centre. From a safe distance, for obvious reasons, they also observed some of the less friendly animals such as crocodiles and the famous Tasmanian devil.

Dovizioso commented: Every time we come to Australia its a special feeling. This is a really peaceful, so its hard to believe that well be riding in a Grand Prix not so far away!

Later in the day 250cc World Champion Jorge Lorenzo (Fortuna Aprilia), Mika Kallio (Red Bull KTM 250), Hector Faubel (Bancaja Aspar) and Mattia Pasini (Polaris World) were given a sample of traditional Aboriginal culture. Following a welcoming ceremony and a cleansing ritual to ward away any evil spirits ahead of this weekends action, the quartet of riders got a chance to play the didgeridoo and inspected some traditional hunting weaponry.
