Smith weighing up 2008 options

British rider Bradley Smith is still without a confirmed ride for 2008, but looks certain to leave Honda as he continues his hunt for further podiums in the 125cc class. The current factory rider spoke to motogp.com yesterday on his visit to the Maru koala and fauna park, and explained his options for the coming season.

At the moment nothing is decided officially, said Smith. I have options with Aprilia and KTM, so two different bikes. I want to move onto a more competitive bike; the Honda isnt bad but the others are a little better. If I can improve like I did last year to this year next season, then we can fight for good positions.

The 16 year-old then turned his attentions to Phillip Island itself, one with which he feels a close affinity.

This weekend is important. I loved the track last year, it was almost scary with the speeds you get here; with the 125cc you have to be at 100% all the time.

My aim has always been to repeat my Le Mans podium. I want to be eighth in the classification, and that is just a few points from where I am now, in tenth.
