MotoGPs current top two both have a very special relationship with the Phillip Island circuit, and have chosen to mark their Australian excursion by modelling new helmets this weekend. New MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner and current runner-up spot occupant Valentino Rossi are two of the biggest attractions Down Under, with the former at his home race and the latter competing at one of his most successful circuits in the premier class.

Stoners new head protection is emblazoned with a kangaroo theme, incorporating a cartoon of one of the national symbols onboard the Ducati Desmosedici GP7. His traditional number 27 is prominent on the back of the helmet, but this time involves a cheeky nod to 2008 with the inclusion of a small 1 in the first digit.

Rossis latest design is based on aboriginal art, painted by hand in an eye-catching pattern. The cartoon rendering of The Doctor, and his trusty canine sidekick Guido, both sport aboriginal masks, whilst the Italians sun and moon symbols are also prominent.

The two helmets are sure to be occupying MotoGP fans screens this weekend, with the twosome heavily favoured for the victory at Phillip Island.
