Two days after his homecoming triumph at Phillip Island, new MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner celebrated his 22nd birthday participating in the grand opening of the Ducati City store in Melbourne.

Stoner has been nothing short of a phenomenon since joining Ducati nearly a year ago to the day, and his home victory - combined with the recent resurgence in form of team-mate and Ducati stalwart Loris Capirossi - confirmed the Italian company's first ever Teams' and Constructors' World titles in an amazing season.

The team provided the Australian with a special birthday gift at the opening of the Ducati shop, rolling in a Hypermotard 1100 resplendent in the Borgo Panigalle outfit's trademark bold red.

The winner of nine Grands Prix so far this season could have a full garage by the end of 2007. Stoner has already received an Alfa Romeo sports car from one of Ducati's close partners and is still in the running for the BMW M Award, a prize for the fastest combined practice times over the course of the year. The MotoGP World Champion currently trails leader Valentino Rossi by 0.051 with two more opportunities to bridge that small gap.
