Tyre manufacturer Dunlop took their 15th consecutive 250cc World Championship at Sepang on Sunday, courtesy of Aprilia rider Jorge Lorenzo. They also extended their run of quarter litre race victories to 186 with Hiroshi Aoyamas triumph in Sepang.

Whilst the British-based factory have experienced a lack of competition in recent years, their desire for improvement has continued unabated. Dunlop have seen new race lap records set at nearly every circuit in the dry this season, and this year introduced a new front profile which has been an unwavering success with the quarter litre class riders.

Nine of Dunlops last 15 World Championship winners have taken the title on Aprilia machinery, and Gigi DallIgna from the Piaggio Group paid tribute to the tyre companys efforts this afternoon.

A good bike needs good tyres, and Dunlop have really moved the performance level forward, especially over the last two years. We are happy with the long collaboration between Aprilia and Dunlop, and confident that it will continue to bring us both even more championships together, stated DallIgna.
