Scott Redding signs with Blusens Aprilia for next two seasons

Doubling the British representation in the 125cc class next year, 14 year-old Gloucester schoolboy Scott Redding has been confirmed by his management as BQR Blusens Aprilia's main rider for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Doubling the British representation in the 125cc class next year, 14 year-old Gloucester schoolboy Scott Redding has been confirmed as BQR Blusens Aprilia's main rider for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Redding had originally been pencilled in to compete in the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship for another year, with select wild card appearances in the World Championship. But impressive rides at the last two rounds of the CEV and in a Catalan Championship race have propelled him into the Grand Prix scene as a full-time rider earlier than expected.

He will be accompanied by an as-yet unconfirmed Spanish rider, who will replace the departing Stefan Bradl.

"It's what I've always dreamed of and my next goal is to win the 2008 125cc Rookie of the Year award," said Redding after the announcement, setting his sights on a successful debut season.

He has previously ridden at four of the 17 circuits used on the world stage: the three Spanish tracks of Valencia, Jerez and Catalunya, plus Donington Park.

Roger Keys of FAB-Racing, Redding's management company, commented: "We are pleased that Scott has signed for the BQR Blusens Aprilia team. During this season he has gelled well with the whole team and their professional approach can only be an asset early in his Grand Prix career."

With the confirmation of Redding's arrival in the team, the Aprilia outfit are also keen to find a UK title sponsor to add to the Spanish backing.
