Whilst the rest of the MotoGP riders were out on track for the second free practice session, Pramac d'Antin Ducati stand-in Chaz Davies was undergoing a scan at a hospital close to the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. The Briton, who this weekend competes in the last of three appearances as a replacement for Alex Hofmann, suffered a highside in the morning session which was left him with a tender leg and hand.

Davies returned to the circuit later on in the afternoon, and will wait until tomorrow to see if he will be in good enough shape to ride in the final free practice and qualifying sessions of the year. The 20 year-old expects to be fit to compete, although he may have to grit his teeth due to the pain a badly swollen left hand is likely to give him.
