A roaring success, Team Roberts' initiative to put fans' names on the KR212V for the final race of the season was unveiled today at Valencia.

Announced at Australia, Kenny Roberts Sr.'s team had wanted to say ‘thank you' to their supporters by giving them the opportunity to write into the Team Roberts website, providing either their own or a friend's name to be placed on the bike. The response was phenomenal, with around 16,000 taking the team up on their offer.

Originally only due to form the Team Roberts ‘KR' logo, the popularity of the scheme was such that it now encompasses a variety of free spaces on the bike, alongside stickers for title sponsors motorpoint.co.uk and MGM Treasure Island on both machines available to regular rider Kurtis Roberts.

The names include those of servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan, ex-riders and TV presenters, and a multitude of fans interested in appearing on the bike –in name at least.

Team Roberts are currently finalising details of their 2008 project, looking to run a two-rider team in a move away from engine supplier Honda.
