Hungarian rider Gabor Talmacsi, who leads the single cylinder general standings by ten points over his Bancaja Aspar team-mate Hector Faubel at the final round of the season, has qualified on pole for Sunday's 125cc showdown with his Spanish colleague applying the pressure in second place on the grid.

Faubel held provisional pole and was on top of the timesheet in the QP2 session before Talmacsi upped his game to notch a time of 1'39.029s on his penultimate lap to take pole by 0.373s from his counterpart.

The front row of the 125cc contest at the Gran Premio bwin.com de la Comunitat Valenciana will feature three Aspar riders, with Sergio Gadea in third place - while Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) is fourth.

The second row features Pablo Nieto (Blusens Aprilia), in front of Simone Corsi (Skilled Racing Team), Nico Terol (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) and Mattia Pasini (Polaris World).

Pol Espargaro (Belson Campetella Aprilia) heads the third row with Sandro Cortese (Emmi Caffe Latte) and Repsol Honda pair Esteve Rabat and Bradley Smith tucking in behind him.
