Arriving at the end of a year to forget 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden is already looking forward to the challenge of the 2008 season and relishing the opportunity to get started with testing the new RC212V prototype.

As one of the hardest working participants in MotoGP Hayden has continually given his all throughout a fruitless title defence season which saw his rivals push ahead while found the going tough onboard 800cc machinery his eighth place in the final round seeing the man with the number one plate ending up eighth in the 2007 general standings.

However, Hayden will have some new toys to play with as 2008 preparations commence with tests at Valencia on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Summarising his current position Hayden commented: I like racing so I can´t say I´m happy to have the season end as I enjoy coming to work, but I guess I´m happy to have this one over and start fresh. I´ve made some mistakes this year and had a bit of bad luck too, so we´ll get it all over with and go back to work.

We´ve got a day and a half of testing here and it will definitely be quite interesting to see what we get and where we´re starting off at. Bike, rider, tyres, team, everything, we´ve got a lot of work to do and hopefully next year we´ll be a lot stronger.

I need more power, more acceleration, not to have to lean the bike so much and less fuel consumption. We´ve got some high expectations so we´ll see what they deliver on Tuesday morning.
