Sharing the track with the stars of MotoGP this week, three riders moving up from the 125cc category to 250cc were onboard their 2008 machines for the first time on Tuesday. Race winners in the lower cylinder class over the past year, Mattia Pasini, Hector Faubel and Lukas Pesek were all on track alongside the likes of most recent victor Mika Kallio on Tuesday and Wednesday, with times available for all but Pasini to compare against the regular riders.

Faubel was less than a second and a half off the pace set by Kallio in the post-race test, with Pesek also impressing onboard the LE Aprilia provided for him to compete in next years 250cc World Championship. Speaking after an intensive run-out, the Czech rider expressed his satisfaction with his first test for a new team and new category.

At the beginning it was a little difficult, because the 250cc requires a completely different style. I learnt a lot over these two days, and the team and myself are now confident in each other, explained Pesek.

Im very happy with the job that weve done. Im not sure how many laps we did, but Im pleased with my physical condition. I thought that maybe it wouldnt be sufficient enough at the moment, he concluded.
