One of the fastest riders on track at the Sepang test last week, John Hopkins, had reason to be satisfied with his second test for new team Kawasaki.

Whilst pleased with his times over the three days, including topping the lap charts on Friday, the Anglo-American had also spoken highly of the instant modifications made by his new colleagues based on information given to them at Valencia.

When the dust settled on the first Malaysian winter test, Hopkins was the third quickest round the Sepang circuit, trailing only a record time set by 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden and a flying lap from Yamaha Tech 3s Colin Edwards.

The 24 year-old had devoted his last day at the South East Asian venue to developing the Bridgestone tyres with which he has had a long and fruitful association over the past few years.

Ive just really been testing a lot of Bridgestone tyres, then working a little bit on the setup for here, said Hopkins, already looking ahead to next years Grand Prix. Im making really good progress with the team so far, and everything seems to be working out really good. I like the atmosphere here, and the engineers are working their butts off!

The Kawasaki newcomer was joined once again by team-mate Anthony West in the Team Green garage, and the Australian spoke of his happiness with the presence of a friendly face with whom to go through the details of the Ninja ZX-RR800.

Its nice to have John here; hes a great guy and its good to have someone here to talk with about the bike, commented West. Myself, Ive just been concentrating on what we need to improve and things that we should put onto the new bike; lots of setups with the frame and new stuff with the engine.
