Red Bull MotoGP Academy riders Takaaki Nakagami and Marcel Schrotter were two of the top ten participants in Sunday's latest round of the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship, which took place at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

Nakagami was returning to the scene of his July podium, but was unable to repeat the feat despite a strong ride. In the final stages of the race he attempted to close down fourth placed Stefan Bradl, eventually missing out and settling for a notable fifth.

Academy newcomer Schrotter also had a good day at the eastern Spanish track, taking ninth place, whilst there was disappointment for fellow alumnus Jonas Folger as he dropped out of the points from a high position on the grid.

In a swift turnaround for the Red Bull MotoGP Academy, the youngsters will return to action as early as this Sunday, at the Jerez circuit which is currently playing host to 125cc and 250cc testing for the World Championship.
