Poggiali determined to achieve results in comeback season

Returning to the quarter litre class in 2008 with Campetella Racing, Manuel Poggiali would have hoped for more track time in this week's testing visit to Jerez - as he returns to the World Championship after a year away.

However, despite the rain at the Andalucian venue, the former 125cc and 250cc World Champion from San Marino, who will be under the management of Eros Braconi in the new year, was nonetheless in a positive mood as he got to grips with his new Aprilia LE.

The 24 year-old told motogp.com at Jerez: "This year it will be important for me to get the best results possible, but it won't be easy as I haven't been riding for a year. So it will be difficult. But the main thing at the moment is to do as many laps as possible and I hope to arrive at the first race in a good condition. I'm very, very happy with the team and the bike and I hope to win in the future."
