Barbera positive despite test curtailment

250cc rider Hector Barbera, who will receive factory rider status with Aprilia next season as he continues his association with Team Toth, had the chance to ride his new bike at Jerez in testing last week. However, the Spaniard was one of the more unfortunate riders over the course of the three day visit, involved in a crash with category newcomer Lukas Pesek that curtailed his activity.

"I crashed early at the start of the final day with Pesek," explained the Spaniard. "The bike went on my back and I wasn't able to do more than 3 laps after that."

Although he may not have done as much testing as he would have liked, Barbera was still happy to have tried out the machine on which he will attempt to realise his potential in the 250cc class next season.

"I had a good first impression of the new Aprilia. I think it is a bit better than the other one that we have been using, which is positive," he concluded.
