125cc stay not a temptation for Faubel

Moving up to 250cc in 2008 after a 125cc runner-up finish this year, Aspar rider Hector Faubel was one of several Spanish participants in Jerez last week in the lower cylinder category tests.

The Valencian rider commented on his second encounter with his new 250cc Aprilia to motogp.com after the test, stating: "At the moment we are doing well. I'm happy with the testing in both Valencia and Jerez; we picked up the feeling quickly and it was important to try new things, especially with something like tyres where we have 14 different types from which to choose."

Faubel's rival and the eventual 125cc World Champion in 2007, Gabor Talmacsi will stay in the class for another year. However, the prospect of doing the same and another possible title challenge in 125cc was not a temptation for Faubel, who explained: "I wanted to go to 250cc because MotoGP is my dream. I think that I showed that we were right up there in 125cc already."
