Sunday saw 125cc World Champion Gabor Talmacsi starring in his homeland at an event dubbed 'Talmageddon'. The Hungarian, a huge national hero even before his title triumph, was cheered by the audience in Budapest for his efforts over the course of 2007.

Hungarian celebrities Hooligans, Ganxsta Zolee and the Kartell, Ruzsa Magdi and Gaspar Laci provided the entertainment in the first half of the show, although the main attraction was Talmacsi and the team behind his championship success. Aspar Team Owner Jorge Martinez and Manager Gino Borsoi had made the trip to Eastern Europe for the event, with the former particularly pleased with the reception afforded to his charge.

"It was a fantastic experience for me to participate this event," said the Spaniard. "The fans have limitless love, and I am glad we could contribute to Gabor Talmacsi's success. It was a team achievement. I hope that we can celebrate again next year."

Also present was Aprilia's Technical Manager Gigi dall'Igna and Talmacsi's personal manager Stefano Favaro, who warmed up the crowd for the 125cc World Champion's eventual arrival onstage. Pulling up on a bike at the same time as the Hungarian national anthem echoed through the capital, ‘Talma' received a rapturous reception and used the rest of the evening to meet fans and sign autographs.

"I would like to say thanks to everyone for everything," exclaimed Talmacsi after the event. "It was a great experience for me to have a celebration together with one of the best teams in the world and the best supporters in the world. Thanks to everyone who was there and to those who were with us in front of their TV sets."
