Veteran MotoGP star Colin Edwards was in great spirits this week at Jerez as he participated in the final test of 2007 with his new team Yamaha Tech 3.

The affable Texan rider has made an apparently seamless transition to Herve Poncharal's satellite Yamaha outfit, perhaps aided by the fact that he is using M1 machinery similar to that which he competed on earlier this year with Fiat Yamaha.

"It's been kind of a whirlwind I guess," said Edwards of his 2007 post-season activity. "The change was actually really easy. As soon as I got over to Herve's team and I got acquainted with my new crew chief and the (lap) times started tumbling. We got the bike working really good and it's an old engine which I think gives us some advantage in terms of bottom end."

"Lap times have been coming pretty easy and I'm going to be 34 in February, so who knows, maybe there's still life in me yet!"
