Casey Stoner's sensational debut season with Ducati Marlboro, which concluded with the Australian rider crowned as the 2007 MotoGP World Champion, has seen the 22 year-old nominated on a shortlist to win the Herald Sun Sport Stars 2007 Award.

The annual award, which celebrates the best achievements in Australian sport, sees a panel of senior sportswriters produce shortlists of 10 candidates in three categories - men, women and teams – with the public then voting for the respective winners, who each get $10,000 (Australian dollars) for their favourite sport or sports club.

Readers have until December 18th to cast their votes and anyone wanting to get involved and back MotoGP star Stoner can find out more information here.
