Two months after the tragic death of former World Championship rider Norifumi ‘Norick' Abe, who was killed in a road traffic accident in his native Japan in October, more than 8,000 fans attended a ‘Norick Memorial' event in Tokyo on Sunday (December 9th).

Paying tribute to the Japanese rider, who sadly died aged 32 and whose MotoGP career spanned 10 years from 1994 to 2004, the fans witnessed an exhibition of Abe's racing paraphernalia - such as bikes, leathers and trophies - and held a minute's silence in his honour.
