Energy drink manufacturer Red Bull have laid down a tough challenge for Italian students to undertake tomorrow: to beat Andrea Dovizioso's lap time in Mugello.

Those enrolled at Milan Politechnic will not, of course, be hopping onboard the JiR Team Scot rider's Honda RC212V this Wednesday, but will instead be putting their thumbs to the test on the official MotoGP video game. The students will be competing virtually against Dovizioso's time at the Mugello circuit.

The twice 250cc runner-up has been a frequent attendee of academic institutions as of late, having recently appeared at the Bologna Faculty of Engineering to talk about several aspects of riding, including mechanical characteristics, physical preparation and circuit typology.

The Dovizioso challenge, sans the rider himself, will be heading to further Italian universities in the next few weeks, with those able to beat his videogame lap times receiving prizes for their efforts. The champion of the event will also have the chance to spend time with the MotoGP rookie at the real life Mugello circuit.
