Wilairot livery to be unveiled in Bangkok

250cc rider Ratthapark Wilairot and the Thai Honda PTT SAG team with which he will undertake his second year in the World Championship are to hold a special press conference in Bangkok at the end of the month.

Set for December 20th, the event serves as a presentation of the team's plans for 2008, as well as a celebration of Wilairot's excellent rookie season. The first ever Thai participant in the World Championship will next year be backed all the way by Honda, who will provide him with factory support and the machines used by quarter litre runner-up Andrea Dovizioso last season.

The new livery for this upgraded bike will be unveiled at the Bangkok press conference, and the project as a whole has got the team excited about the prospects for 2008.

"This event on December 20th will confirm the huge coverage the team and Ratthapark got in Thailand thanks to their results in 2007," says Team Manager Eduardo Perales. "For next season, we're expanding our effort; HRC will provide us with factory machinery and our relationship with A.P. Honda (a key partner of the team) will be even closer. That's why we're looking forward to going to Bangkok and holding this presentation, as it's another reward for the work we did this year and it will give us extra motivation for the next season."

Wilairot, who tested his 2008 machinery for the first time in the post-season Valencia sessions, also spoke ahead of the press conference.

"It's a great honour to see A.P. Honda and the team's sponsors to renew their confidence in me," explained ‘Film'. They gave me a great opportunity this year and I believe that, with the help of the team, I was able to make the most of it. Next year, it will be time to step up to another level. We did a great job this year and the presentation to be held at Bangkok will be a good opportunity to thank everybody for their support."
