Adding yet another country to the list of those providing riders in the MotoGP World Championship, Indonesian Doni Tata Pradita has been confirmed as a full-time participant in 250cc for the coming season after a series of wildcard appearances at previous Malaysian Motorcycle Grands Prix.

The Yogyakarta native will be riding for the Yamaha Pertamina Indonesia team for his rookie season, in the Japanese factory's return to lower cylinder category racing after three years away.

Pradita, still only 17, placed 31st and 26th respectively in his 125cc rides at Sepang, and this year made his 250cc debut in Malaysia. It was to be an inauspicious maiden appearance, with the Indonesian unable to finish the race, but gave him a taste of quarter litre action that he was keen to repeat.

The youngster is the latest addition to MotoGP's Asian contingent, following in the footsteps of Honda rider Ratthapark Wilairot –the Thai competitor who joined the 250cc World Championship in 2007.
