Making use of his winter break to go under the knife, Kawasaki's Anthony West is now back home in Australia resting up after surgery on his left wrist.

The Australian, one of several MotoGP riders making a visit to the surgeon's table over the past few weeks, was booked in for the removal of four screws and a metal plate present in his arm since 2002. The introduction of the metalwork was requiered after a high speed crash in his homeland at the Phillip Island circuit.

After the operation and subsequent physiotherapy, undertaken in Ingolstadt, Germany, the 26 year-old returned home to the Gold Coast to spend time with his family and prepare for his first preseason with Kawasaki.
