The last round of the 125cc Spanish National Championship (CEV Buckler) took place in Jerez this weekend, with Red Bull MotoGP Academy rider Takaaki Nakagami coming home in a creditable fourth position.

The race was a title decider and although Scott Redding took victory after leading from the very start - as he did in the previous round in Valencia - German rider Stefan Bradl won the title as he slipstreamed his way through on the last straight to finish second by the narrowest of margins ahead of Alexis Masbou.

Bradl was a member of the Red Bull MotoGP Academy last year - and in 2007 he also competed in the 125cc World Championship with Blusens Aprilia.

Meanwhile, for 2007 Academy participant Nakagami he crossed the line fourth after running in that position for most of the race and having held off a late challenge by Efren Vazquez, who had to settle for fifth.

Nakagami was the only Academy rider in the top ten at Jerez, with Jonas Folger and Marcel Schrötter, finishing 13th and 14th respectively. The Japanese rider finishes the season sixth in the CEV standings.
