Ajo signs Di Meglio and Aegerter

Ajo Motorsport have announced their new lineup for 2008 in the 125cc category, signing up Frenchman Mike di Meglio and Swiss rookie Dominique Aegerter.

The duo join the team at an opportune moment. Ajo Motorsport have reached an agreement with the Piaggio Group to provide Di Meglio, a 125cc race winner, with a factory Derbi RSA machine for the season.

Di Meglio currently rides for Kopron Team Scot onboard a Honda in the lower cylinder class, and is a veteran of five full seasons in the category despite his tender age of 19. Aegerter is competing in his first season on the world stage.

Team Manager Aki Ajo comments that "We've had a good season this year as a whole, and the support from the Piaggio Group has been outstanding for us. We are extremely happy to announce this quite remarkable news for us about our team and the RSA Factory machinery today.

"We feel that with Mike we have a strong spearhead for our Grand Prix effort, and to be able to provide him with an RSA Factory Derbi together with the Piaggio Group is fantastic. And we really look forward to getting to work with Dominique, as he has proven this year that he has the potential."
