French rider Jules Cluzel makes his debut for Angaia Racing at Valencia in just under two weeks time, undertaking two days of testing from February 12th.

Cluzel rides 250cc Aprilia this season, and made it clear to motogp.com this week that the move was something he had in mind throughout 2006.

"There was an open invitation from FFM Honda GP 125 early on after the end of last season, but we agreed that if I had the opportunity to ride in 250cc then I would take it. The quarter litre class was my priority, and at the last minute Angaia called and offered me the spot."

"Angaia is a small team, but they have great technical staff. People like Olivier Liégeois and Christian Boudinot are good to have o your side. I'm hoping to have a good season, bearing in mind the year of experience I have and the fact that I have already ridden an Aprilia kit bike."

Although confident of a successful 2007, Cluzel is aware of the challenge ahead as part of one of the most competitive 250cc grids in recent years. "It will be a different season to 2006, because back then I had to learn everything from the circuits to the bike. Now I have the experience to be more consistent and make less mistakes. The level is going to be high, but I'm up for the challenge, excited and hoping to have the opportunity to shine," promised the Frenchman.

Cluzel noted that he is much better physically than in 2006, having headed to England with countryman and MotoGP rider Randy de Puniet for various physical examinations.
