Kev Coghlan, the Scottish rider participating in the 125cc Grand Prix of Turkey as a stand in for the injured Mike di Meglio, spoke with motogp.com today about the challenge ahead of him and the circumstances surrounding his late call-up. Having ridden in the British 125cc Championship over the weekend, Coghlan will be back on a Honda machine for Sunday's race under the Team Scot banner.
"I only found out about it last weekend," said the rider originally pencilled in to compete in 250cc this year. "I share the same manager as Andrea Dovizioso, and they got me in contact with Team Scot when they knew that there was a place available. I just have to get out on track tomorrow and see what I can do, although it helps that it is a 125cc Honda that I am used to riding instead of a completely new bike at a completely new circuit," concluded Coghlan.
