Having made a solid start with his new MotoGP team JiR Team Scot in 2008 pre-season tests at Valencia, 250cc World Championship runner-up Andrea Dovizioso was another rider who paid a visit to the EICMA Motorshow in Milan last week.

It was at the prestigious event that the young Italian spoke about his relationship with Honda, the new 800cc bike he rode for the first time at Valencia and his exciting promotion to MotoGP.

´It´s a great bike,´ said the 21 year-old of the RC212V, ´I thought I´d have problems with the extra weight and the power, but instead it went well. I still need to get used to the electronics and the engine brake that don´t exist in the 250 class.´

Having finished second in the quarter litre category for the last two years Dovi is sure that he has timed his MotoGP move correctly, explaining: ´It was the right thing to do. I´ve learnt a lot this year and that will help me next year. I mean negative moments as well as positive moments because you can learn from everything you do.´

When questioned as to whether his relationship with Honda had been affected by bike development issues over the past couple of years the former 125cc champion responded: ´I was disappointed, but when they (Honda) do things right they´re very good. I´m happy with my choice and I´m happy to be part of a satellite team. I´ll be able to learn and make another step up.´
