Following the conclusion of the 2007 season, Fiat Yamaha have officially confirmed their rider line-up for 2008.

As anticipated, seven-time World Champion Valentino Rossi and two-time 250cc World Champion Jorge Lorenzo will contest the 2008 MotoGP World Championship as team-mates in the Fiat Yamaha team.Yamaha have also confirmed that Rossi will switch to Bridgestone tyres for next year, while Lorenzo will be racing with Michelin tyres.In order to facilitate the use of Michelins and Bridgestones in the same Yamaha factory team, with data confidentiality ensured for both tyre companies, Yamaha will use separate rider pit boxes, though Fiat Yamaha will continue to operate and race as one team.
