Beginning a new project in MotoGP with Team Scot and Andrea Dovizioso, Gianluca Montiron is expecting big things from his 2008 collaboration. The Italian Team Director stayed on in Valencia to watch his new charge in action, and was impressed with the times and the work put in over the course of the two day test.

I think that 2008 will be a very exciting season for us. We have a new project with a talented rider in Andrea Dovizioso, who was very intelligent when testing by trying to understand the bike with a good approach, explained Montiron to motogp.com.

The collaboration between JiR and Team Scot, which also includes the supporting of Yuki Takahashi in 250cc, is a conscious attempt to bring young riders through to MotoGP.

Its clear that young riders are coming along very quickly in MotoGP. You just have to look at Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa. The dynamic of the 2-stroke 250cc makes these riders very good with the 800cc, concluded Montiron.
