Red Bull KTM riders Tomoyoshi Koyama and Randy Krummenacher will be worth watching closely this weekend at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland with a new chassis for the 125 FRR as they aim to further improve results.

With a victory in Barcelona and two other podium finishes for 24-year-old Japanese ace Koyama so far this season, and with 17-year-old Swiss rookie Krummenacher climbing the podium for the first time ever, also at Catalunya, despite intermittent chattering problems with their KTM machinery, it is hoped that the new chassis will lead to more success.

Following a weather affected test at the Brno circuit last week the KTM team were happy with their new components, but the rain in the Czech Republic meant they were unable to collect conclusive data to compare with the previous chassis.

Sachsenring provides an opportunity for further testing and comparison with the chassis used thus far in 2007, with both riders having their old bikes and the new models available in Germany.

KTM´s engineers have used test facilities at the factory´s Racing Department at Mattighofen, Austria to develop the new chassis - with less rigidity on the swing arm and alterations in stiffness and rigidity throughout - designed to absorb vibrations more efficiently than the previous model.

Red Bull KTMs Technical Director Harald Bartol commented on the Brno testing: ´Due to the bad weather, we don´t have any final confirmation about the qualities of our new prototype chassis. We also haven´t been able to accomplish our goal of finding out where and in exactly which situations the new chassis behaves better or differently when compared to the old one. Therefore, Koyama and Krummenacher will both run two different bikes at the Sachsenring, with an old and a new chassis each, for back-to-back comparisons.´
