Rabat successfully undergoes surgery on injured hand

Repsol Honda 125cc rider Esteve Rabat yesterday successfully underwent surgery on his fractured second and third left metacarpals and broken cubital thumb ligament, damage inflicted as a result of his crash in preparation for the Alice Grand Prix de France.

Repsol Honda 125cc rider Esteve Rabat yesterday successfully underwent surgery on his fractured second and third left metacarpals and broken cubital thumb ligament, damage inflicted as a result of his crash in preparation for the Alice Grand Prix de France. The Spaniard was operated on by Dr. Xavier Mir at the Barcelona Dexeus institute, with titanium screws fixed on the fractures and a total immobilisation of the damaged ligament.

Dr. Mir indicated that the extend of Rabat's recovery would be assessed next week, with the possibility of him returning for next Sunday's race in Italy.
